8th March. We're back!

Arrival on our little plane at Berne.

****************************************************************

9th March. Lovely day

Coffee at Aspen.

Meadows on the way to Grund.

****************************************************************

10th March. Gloomy weather, went to Winteregg.

Nice train mate very exciting!.

Keeping the kids amused.

Did I say kids?

****************************************************************

11th March. Snowing and misty. Went up anyway.

And the weather cleared up!.

Tons of fresh snow to ski.

Beautiful scenery on Tschuggen. Kirsty (aka "The Stig") tearing it up.

Weather closed in again after lunch. Oz skiing home.

****************************************************************

12th March. Awful. Rain and wind. Some went up, others went shopping. Anyhow, here's what happens when it rains in a ski resort:

Firstly, the council take the opportunity to hose-down the streets, because there's no danger of the water freezing and turning the road into an ice rink.

Meanwhile, the tourists mill about, looking at the info-boards to see what's open (little or nothing).

And the rain destroys the snow. The strip of snow to the right of the house is the Aspen piste at Grindelwald, which we skied in perfect conditions on Sunday.

Splendid dinner in the Bernerhof!

More dinner

Lauberhorn trio as usual on Wednesday. Natalie's turn to play the broom.

Happy couple - still happy!

****************************************************************

13th March. Better day, viz a bit poor but snow still ok despite the rain.

Drinks break on Arven.

Kids bored again.

Dodgy cocktails in the Sunstar.

****************************************************************

14th March. New snow.

At the top of the fearsome Black Rock piste - watching Steve dig himself out of the snow.

Oz tames Black Rock. Respect.

Mike, trying hard to look cool.

Doug & Kirsty having a breather.

****************************************************************

15th March. Lauberhorn Race. A bunch of deluded fools who should know better. Great day!

Mike on the finish schuss.

Go Val!

****************************************************************

16th March. Bit wet, brightening up.

Can you see what's wrong with this picture? Yes, the passengers are getting out the same way they went in - the Mannlichenbahn has broken down.

So everyone went to the station to catch the train. This doesn't look good!

So we got the other train down into the valley and went to Winteregg, which was really nice, and almost deserted!.

****************************************************************

17th March. Sleet in the village, snowing up top.

Kids, kids kids at gloomy Scheidegg. Easter holidays in some parts of Europe.

On Arven. Jane testing potential new skis.

Arven again - the only place you could see today.

****************************************************************

18th March. Snowy, foggy!.

Fog fog fog, can't see a thing. But Jane has new skis, so need to go skiing!

People fog-bathing outside the Berghaus.

We had a go too.

Very cold down in the vilage.

****************************************************************

19th March. Super weather!

A few clouds climbing up the mountains, but nothing to worry about.

Lovely views from Scheidegg.

Should have worn that sunscreen!

****************************************************************

20th March. Lovely day.

Top of Lager at 2200 metres.

Path through the woods on the way to Tschuggen.

But the Tschuggen lift broke down! So we had to ski all the way to Grindelwald on this strip of snow and catch the bus (Jennifer front-right of pic). The mountain in the background is Tschuggen by the way.

Val turning on the style through the slush.

Jane bought champagne at Terry's.

Our badger. It plays in the garden every night.

He'd love to read the menu! Ever wondered who ate your flowers during the night?

****************************************************************

21st March. Heavy snow.

At Allmend just above the village.

Jennifer had the right idea.
